Your First Visit
EVERYTHING YOU NEED TO KNOW
At Staley Dental, our top priority for your first visit to our practice is to thoroughly evaluate your dental health. First, our team will sit with you to review your dental history as well as your general health history. We’ll then take digital X-rays using our wireless sensor to produce high-quality images while minimizing your radiation exposure. These will either be a full mouth series or bitewings and a panoramic X-ray depending on your specific needs. We will then check for any TMJ (temporomandibular joint) dysfunction, as well as bite issues and early signs of periodontal disease.
Your first appointment at Staley Dental will likely take around one hour of your time. This allows us to perform a thorough evaluation and gather all the necessary information so we can create a treatment plan tailored to your needs. We understand that adding a professional cleaning on top of this initial one-hour appointment can make it more challenging for some patients. For this reason, we will schedule a separate appointment for your professional cleaning. In our experience, this approach works well for patients of all ages.
Taking Your Children to the Dentist
TIPS FOR PARENTS
Staley Dental’s youngest patients are around 3 years of age. Taking your children to the dentist for the first time can be a new and exciting (and sometimes challenging) experience. Early visits to the dentist instill important oral care habits that will guide your child’s dental health throughout their life. Toddler visits establish familiarity with our dental team and build positive associations with dental care.
Before your child’s first appointment, you can encourage them by explaining that the dentist and team are friendly and caring. We just want to help them to keep their teeth healthy and strong so they can live a healthy life—now and tomorrow! You can also role-play a dental visit at home so they know what to expect. Having them practice opening and closing their mouth and letting you look inside is a fun way to prepare them for their first dental visit.

At Staley Dental, we offer an in-house Health Savings Plan designed to help you save money on your family’s dental care. Our Health Savings Plan includes two professional dental cleanings, two oral evaluations, and routinely scheduled X-rays, as well as a 15% discount on any additional dental treatments required within our practice.
If you have periodontal issues, we also have a Health Savings Plan specifically for periodontal therapy. By signing up for our Health Savings Plan, you can enjoy the benefits of regular preventive care while saving money on necessary treatments.
